Hi please help I've been working on my jimmy for over a month. Its a 98 GMC jimmy 2wd SLS. I've changed the cap, rotor, distributor, spark plugs, spark plug wires, starter, and crankshaft position sensor. The car turns over and tries to start but won't. I can hear the fuel pump clicking on so I know that's good and so is the fuel pump relay. On these vehicles does a no start code get stored into the computer and can cause it to still not start even after changing all these parts? And if so how do I get it to clear without having to pay a shop hundreds of dollars to use there fancy machine to remove it from being stored in the computer. I've tried unplugging the battery to reset it and that didn't work. What else could be causing problems? I really need my vehicle back and am financially short on funds so I can't just keep throwing money at it.

some auto parts outlets will code read your vehicle for free. Talk to them.

I think every one here on this forum driving a car this old is in the same boat, Mine is a 1998 4x4 if I had money to spend I sure would up grade to something newer. Do a fuel line pressure test, if the fuel pressure is to low It won't start . It is good place to start looking. I have never used one of those code readers, they must be a nice thing to have.
