I've got a 97 Jimmy with the power cloth seats. I find them very uncomfortable. At the junk yard I found a set of 98+ leather power seats with seat warmers. They seem far more comfortable and the rear seats have head rests which are safer for my daughter (I've been rear-ended three times, so it's a natural concern).
I want to put the 98+ seats into my 97. The rears are easy, and the front's look like they should bolt in fine, but the wiring is different. It looks like the 97 has only 2 wires (power and ground, I assume) while the 98+ has 5.
I'm wondering what those extra wires are for (weight responsive airbags, dedicated power for seat warmers?) and if I can just splice my current wires into the 98+ harness while maintaining full operation of the seat and safety features?
I don't want to buy the seats and try because if it doesn't work, I can only return them for store credit and I just don't need that many other parts.
Thanks
