Okay, I am always getting hot air. no matter if i manually open the cold air vent or let it sit in hot. The air "sucking" sound changes when i do this manually, but the temp. stays the same, the engine heat temp. can anyone tell me something about this because all of the searches are just for the actuators, not the vent itself.

blend door

The blend door is a flap that closes off the compartment that houses the heat coil. When you change the knob on the dash an electrical signal tells the actuator to open or close the door. I replaced the actuator because the wheel that turns the door was broken and all i had was heat, a common problem with the electric actuator. Molson in an earlier post guided me through changing it. Repair requires dropping the steering column and the dash. It took a few hours to do and if you are good with wrenches and fixing things it is not a bad job, just takes time and care. Be sure if you replace it not to plug the wire in before it is mounted on the blend door or the actuator will lose the correct position and not work correctly. Hope this helps. Of course disconnect the battery before starting, be careful around the sensors or anything related to the airbags.
