I have a 99 GMC Sierra SLT Z71 4x4 that the recirc button was not moving the fresh air/recirc door, but the recirc button was lighting up. I had my friend's Snap On scanner on my pickup and it said that the recirculate was not on even though the switch button light was lit up. I just replaced the fresh air/recirculate actuator last night with a brand new one.
I had the battery disconnected and the heater fan set to "off" when I installed the new actuator, and the instructions with the actuator says "DO NOT apply power to the actuator until it is installed onto the blend door".
The door was partially open when aligned and installed on the actuator, and when I turned the key to run, the door closed to the full recirculate position. If I push the fresh air or recirculate buttons, the fresh air door does not move. The plugin is plugged into the actuator, because it did move the door to the full recirculate position.
Pushing the fresh air button lights up the button, and pushing the recirculate button lights that button up.
Is there some repark procedure to sync up the actuator on these NB style pickups?
Or is there an issue with my fresh air/recirculate buttons on the heater control panel?
Thank you for any help!
