I thought about trading in truck last weekend and was getting dinged for two issues.
1st, Dealer said AC wasn't working which was a first. It was cold ~30* and it would not turn on. called dealer to set up appt to fix and he mentioned when it gets cold enough it will not kick on it is designed that way. Llater that day it was 50* it turned on.
Next day would not turn on out side temp up to 46*. Later that day 60* and it works.
This morning 44* would not turn on. 2hrs later still 44* and it turned on.
Anyone have a problem like this? I'm afraid I take it to the dealer and if it's working at that he won't be able to fix it and I get charged an inspection fee.
2nd issue, is power steering pump. I lifted truck 4" and put over size tires when I first bought it. Power steering wouldn't turn wheels very easily when the truck wasn't moving. HAd it repalced under warranty and same thing. I was them told it was because the over size tires 285/70/17. Took into a 2nd dealer couple of years later was told the same thing. It is now at the point wheel will not turn at all unless I get the thing rolling. Other trucks that I have drive that were lifted included a chevy don't seem to have this problem. Anyone deal with this type of problem?
