Earlier this year, the ac compressor on my 2000 Sierra seized, and the belt that powers the compressor snapped. Recently I had the compressor replaced and although the ac now works great, the truck has developed a belt squeal that I can't get rid of. I brought it back to my mechanic, and he has replaced the ac belt 2x, the ac belt tensioner 2x, and most recently the balancer attached to the front of the crank that powers both the serpentine belt and the ac belt. It's squealing again and driving me nuts.
I disconnected the serpintine belt to make sure it wasn't that, and the squeal is still there. The ac belt only contacts 3 points: the balancer, the ac compressor, and the belt tensioner. We can't seem to figure out why the belt keeps squealing - any help would be greatly appreciated.
