My neighbor left his 08 Acadia sunroof open a few weeks ago and we got a few inches of rain that soaked the interior. He then had the battery die before he used the thing. After letting it dry out for a week or so I told him I would figure out why his battery is dying. Well when I opened up the battery box it is was sitting in water nearly up to the posts. After putting on a smart trickle charger for a few day I am getting about a constant 12amp draw from a multi meter. It doesn't matter if the door is closed for 10 minutes to wait for any computers to go to sleep. I did unplug the alternator and nothing changed on the draw. If I unplug the battery cable where it connects to the under hood fuse box it does drop to zero so I believe the cable to not be the issue. I had him pull all the fuses under the glove box (I wasn't about to contort myself for that) and the draw didn't drop. I took all the fuses out under the hood and the only change came on the two slow fuses listed as batt. one out the draw went up to 14, both out it went to 17amp. I even pulled the relays under the hood and still nothing. Any thoughts on what I am missing as far as circuits or unfused electrical bits on the thing?
