Adaptive Cruise Control and the technology package

I recently purchased a 2023 Sierra 2500 Denali with the technology package. I can’t get adaptive cruise control to turn on. The dealer is telling me it’s not an available feature in my model but I know it’s been available for years. I’ve found the feature in my owners manual, but can’t switch it on. I’m taking the truck in to another GM service location to have them check it out. Could it be a software issue?
