Adjusting Middle Seat

I have a friend who is in a wheelchair. He has trouble getting into the middle seat of a 1999 sub (the 1/3-2/3 split non-removable seat). The door post is in the way. We looked for a way to move the seat back about 6", but I can't find any releases.

Anyone have any suggestions? Is this possible?
