I just bought a 2012 GMC Sierra 1500 Extended Cab and had some questions about aftermarket wheel and tire installation?? The on board computer displays the tire pressure, miles, MPG, etc., would I need to buy the wheels/tires and have them installed at a GMC dealership in order for the computer to be re-calibrated to the new wheels/tires? I'm asking because I have a feeling that the dealership wont give me the best deal (wheels/tires, lift, alignment, labor, etc.); however, if thats what I need to do in order to have it done correctly, I guess I will...

Any pictures of a finished product would be great!

Thanks!

buy any wheels and tires you want. But as far as tire presure monitors you have two way to go. Remove yours from the stock tires or buy new ones. I bought new ones so i can run my summer wheels and winter wheels.

to reset the tire light is easy it's in your onwners manual. Just go throght the tire monitor on the dash till it says reset then push the check mark the horn will sound. Now let the air out of the left front tire till the horn sounds and repeat with rf ,rr,lr tire then you done takes 1 min.

No dealer needed so save your money lol

What he said...and to add...you can also not install the tpms;you will get that message on dash.
I bought rims and tires for plowing for my 2011 2500.I found there is not much to choose from yet,Probably due to the new rim bolt pattern.I ended up with matching factory rims, caps, and tpms from a take off.A guy in Texas has a boatload. Legit also!Cost me $500.00 for package, inc, shipping.I bought the tires locally, though he had complete sets also.
Any competent tire shop can install and program for you!
