i just bought a 2001 jimmy diamond edition on craigslist and got a decent deal on it (aside from the worst wet dog odor iv'e ever smelled in a car), low miles, entire drivetrain rebuilt by a good local shop 50k miles ago, decent interrior etc...
the only flaw is that the back is sagging due to the factory air shocks being old and probably leaking air, which leads me to my dilemma, i need to at least replace the air shocks, but of all 15 4x4 suspension specialists in town (i live in the pacific northwest) every single one of them has gotten confused when i told them i had factory air shocks and they have all told me there's nothing they can do for me. now since i plan on taking it camping/hunting/fishing a lot i have every intention of upgrading/lifting the suspension, but since none of the "experts" around here have any idea about what to do, i am lost.
the rear suspension is air shocks/leaf springs, and the front is normal shocks and struts. all i need to know is can i install this 2.5 inch rough country lift without any extra hassle, or will the rear air shocks have to stay on and be replaced even with the lift kit? iv'e never messed with a 4x4 before but have lots of mechanical experience with muscle cars. so i just want to order this kit, throw it all on there and forget these stupid air shocks ever existed, since according to the locals here they never did to begin with.
