I have a 1998 Sierra 5.0 in beautiful shape except for a huge leak and it seems to be coming from behind the alternator bracket but its hard to see back there without removing it.I don't think its a head gasket leak because there is no oil in the antifreeze and no antifreeze in the oil. Both are clean.Truck does not smoke and quite frankly the engine sounds and runs great therefore I think it's a frost plug on the head/passenger side front, but not sure till I remove the alt and bracket. My question though is ....when I disconnect the battery, is it going to screw up the computer and cause rough running when I reconnect the battery. Is there a special way to disconnect and connect the battery to avoid computer and running issues.thanks.

Disregard above post....I found the leak....right front corner of intake manifold...No need to remove the battery anyway..
