I am looking for a new "family car" since we're trying for our second child and my current car is feeling cramped (Jeep Grand Cherokee). So, my husband and I were thinking about getting a GMC Acadia. Anyone have one? How do you like it? I'm looking for any input!

Thank you!

I think it would be suitable. We just got an Acadian to replace out aging AWD Chevy Astro minivan. The loss of interior room was very noticeable for out 1000 mile one-way Christmas trip. A roof-mounted 18 cu ft luggage carrier helped in that regard, but to have to ante up extra $$ for the cross-rails for the factory roof rack kinda ticked me off, but whattcha gonna do at the last minute? It definitely is a more pleasant vehicle to drive. AWD in the Acadia doesn't seem as capable as the Astro, but it is likely due in large part to the factory tires. They are wider and not nearly as winter-capable as what I had put on the minivan. The 18 or 19" wheels are a big downfall in my opinion, there is not nearly as much choice for more suitable all-season tires as compared to 15 or 16" wheels.

Yes, It would be fine for a younger family, and a much nicer driving vehicle too, and likely easier on gas than the Cherokee. You will notice the outward visibility is much different, but you'll get used to that. I knew it would be a bit of an issue, so I wanted to have the rear camera in ours.
