Ok so I bought a 2000 Jimmy a few months back and had some problems with the Delco Bose radio from the start. The radio will only play out of the back speakers, except when I push on any of the steering wheel buttons, then it will play out all of my speakers. This only applies to when the steering wheel buttons are pressed down, however when I press the mute button it sounds like a skipping CD. Originally I thought that this was some kind of short in the steering wheel column, but now that I have had it a few more months, I'm not sure. If i drive for more than an hour, I have found that the sound will return to all my speakers if i mess with the balance a bit. I was wondering if anyone else thinks this is a wiring problem, or if I have to replace the Head unit.
If I have to replace the head unit, would I have to replace it with a same model Bose radio or could I get just a good results from a aftermarket radio or a non Bose factory radio?
