awd problem with my 2004 gmc envoy xuv?

Hello. When im driving in 2 wd, there are no issues, but when i put it into awd, there seems to be weird friction noises, ad when i turn it sometimes makes an odd popping friction noise. The awd works fine, but i dont like the noises. Any sugesstions?
