I have a 2024 GMC Denali 1500, notice when backing up with no lights around very poor visual. Is there away to get more light or is just bad

I just got a 2024 GMC X31 1500 and have the same issue, I think its just the way they are.
Another post was asking about upgrading the lights.

2024 SLT here and I have the same problem.

The backup lights are horrible on these trucks.

They are unserviceable LED's. There are no bulbs that you can upgrade.

I really don't want to add any aftermarket pod lights to my brand new truck. Nor do I want to tee tap into any factory wiring.

You have to be careful with wiring into the trailer receptacle wiring. If you have the factory trailer app, it might think that a trailer is connected.
I guess it would be OK if you use a relay, using the 7 pin reverse wire to switch the relay and the 7 pin constant power from the trailer connector to feed the lights.

I was thinking of adding one of those tailgate strip lights, but I don't know if it would fit in that space under the tailgate. Then I would still have the problem of what to wire it to.

I was hoping someone here has solved this problem.

Sometimes I press that cargo light button on the headlight switch when backing up. It turns on the light by the backup camera and the cargo bed. It's still not enough light, but it helps a little.

Solved: installed a pair of rear facing LED lamps under the bed. Wired into the existing b.u. lamp harness.

Can you give us more details on your install, maybe some pictures?
Does your truck have the permanent unserviceable led tail lights?
Exactly where did you Mount the lights?
What lights did you use?
Thanks!
