4 months or so ago I was driving down the highway and the battery light came on. Over the span of a couple minutes (no where to pull over due to construction barriers.)The battery completely drained and the car shut off. Replaced the battery with a new one and changEd the alternator too. About a week later it did it again. Swapped for another battery as the first new one would no longer hold a charge. Over the span of a couple months I've check all fuses, a bunch of wires, got a second new alternator, and 2 more new batteries. Yesterday it did it again but this time when I put a new battery in it (had it tested even though it was just off the shelf) turned the car on and the battery light was on and the display reads about 9v. BRAND NEW OFF THE SHELF. So my question is what reads and transmitts the status of the battery? Could it be lying? Is there a safety mechanism in batteries that would completely discharge them to keep them from exploding or whayever?Could this be an issue of overcharging?
