Blinker Switch Problems

I got a 1998 GMC jimmy SLE, my blinker switch assembly broke, got a different one from the salvage yard, put it in and now everything works perfectly except my brights will not turn off.. I'm wondering if there's a wire thats for the brights that I can bypass with a switch.. or if anyone else knows what I can do to fix it...
