My 1995 K1500 Suburban has a broken houseing on the tranny. It stopped going and I added some fluid to it to test it and drove it 100 feet. What are the chances I can still get away with simply replacing the broken housiing which it only the output shaft housing that is broken?

50/50% depends on what condition the bearing and seals are throughout the transmission. Good luck and keep us posted, try picking up a out put shaft housing at the Salvage yard just in case there is more damage then expected. At least you saved some money for a rebuilt transmission or a used one. ;)
