hey guys, i have a 1999 gmc jimmy sl 4.3 V6, theres a pully on my engine at the very bottom i think its either cam or crank shaft, but anyways, the pully bounces like its loose or somthing and the bolts holding it in are quite tight, and as it bounces it has like a squeak/squiel to it. Is there anyway of fixing this? is this a sign somthings going to break? any help would be greatly appreicated, thanks

I'm not sure what that low pulley is, but i dont think its the crank. The fan is attached to the crank i believe. Last time mine wobbled, it took the dealership to figure it out. The engine ran rich.

i think it is cam shank but not sure so in my opinion going to dealer would make you out of trouble

If your talking about the tension pully, yes it does bounces up and down to compensate for the flex of the serpentine belt. The do tend to go bad after time and its not that expensive to replace and you can do the labor of replacing it your self in 15 min.

Good luck and keep us posted, most parts store will have that pull like Part source, Napa or the dealer it self. ;)

ok so i unbolted the pully and i replaced it a new one, it bolted on tight and it still like wabbles like its loose but its not, and molson02536 its not the tension pully, this one is bolted on directly with 3 bolts on the outer center of it and one solid bolt in the middle.
