Can I sell my 2007 GMC Acadia if I still owe money on it?

I am in the process of divorce and left with a 2007 GMC Acadia with $15,000 left on it. Would it be better to sell it privately than trading it in? It's in excellent condition and has roughly 32,000 miles on it. Which would be better in the long run. I figured maybe if I sold it privately, what I make from it pay off the loan and any left over use towards a used car.

If you trade your Acadian for another car with less value and there is a balance owing after your trade in, your still responsible to paying off the ballance. So in long story short, your monthly payments would be around the same. The difference is that your monthly payment for a Acadian will have your driving a Vehicle less then your Acadian.:rolleyes:
