Yeah its a straight forward swap, change the flywheel to that of the automatic. Bolt the transmission in and modify the crossmember to mount the transmission. Might need to source both front and rear driveshaft. Everything else is self explanatory on the install.
As for the 700r4 problems mentioned in the above post, I agree they do have problems and it is the people who own them, not the transmission itself. When asked when they replaced the transmission filter, most owners will say, "Right after I felt it slipping." Like any automatic transmission out there, maintenance is the key to making one last. Well maintenance and not towing in overdrive.
Anyway, make sure to seal all the sealable items on the 700r4, service your transmission at regular intervals, get a separate transmission cooler to mount in front of your radiator, and you wont have any troubles.
