car problem with gmc 1500 sierra?

we have a gmc sierra efi....auto matic tramission. The problem is, it will start, run for about 2 seconds then shut off. We took the air cleaner off, sprayed break cleaner on it and it stays running. Any idea what the problem can be?

Change the fuel filter. Sounds like petrol starvation!

i had the same problem with my 91 gmc it was a weak fuel pump. just replace the pump part not the whole pump assembly if your gas gauge works its way to expensive.
