Hey Guys,

Newbie here and I apologize if this has already been answered. Can someone describe the best way to change low beam headlight bulbs on a 2011 Sierra 1500? I had a 96 Sierra and it was a royal pain to change the bulbs. I am hoping it is not that bad on this one. If anyone has pictures or a link to a video that would be great.

Thank you very much in advance,
Denis

Look in the owners manual, explains the procedure in detail.

Had a 1996 and as I recall it was easy to replace the light bulbs.

Here are GMs instructions:

1. Remove two forward wheel house bolts

2. Open Hood

3. Remove two upper fascia bolts across top of grille

4. Remove the lower rear fascia bolt from the support bracket

5. Loosen the two fender to fascia bolts from behind wheel well liner

6. Pull the outboard end of the front fascia straight out until it disengages the fender bracket, pull forward and downward enough to remove the headlight

7. Remove two upper headlamp bolts

8. Grasp headlamp on the upper inboard side and lower outboard side and pull straigh to release pins from fender panel

9. Pull outboard side rotating to release headlamp from radiator support bracket

10. Disconnect electrical connections

Good luck and keep us posted. ;)

I don't know where above instructions come from but the owners manual gives this.. I have done it, not all that difficult. Suggestions, were mechanic gloves, sharp edges on core support.

To replace one of these bulbs:

1. Open the hood. See Hood on
page 10‑5

2. If you are replacing the bulb
on the passenger side, remove
the Engine Air Cleaner cover.
See Engine Air Cleaner/Filter on
page 10‑19 for more information.

3. Reach in and access the bulb
sockets from inside the engine
compartment.

4. Turn the bulb socket
counterclockwise to remove it
from the headlamp assembly
and pull it straight out.

5. Unplug the electrical connector
from the old bulb by releasing
the clips on the bulb socket.
6. Replace it with a new bulb
socket.

7. Plug in the electrical connector
to the new bulb socket.

8. Reinstall the new bulb socket
into the headlamp assembly and
turn it clockwise to secure
