changing the motor in a 98 gmc sonoma?

i am trying to change a motor out of a 1998 gmc sonoma zr2....

it has a 262
6 cylinder
5 speed
4.3 vortec

i cannot get the motor out even though everything is detached and i am now being told that i have to jack up the cab to get it out because it hits the crossmember....is there anyway to prevent having to jack up the whole cab of the truck 9 inches and still get the motor out and the new one back in???

seperate the trans from engine and unbolt the converter and jack the trans up and it should come out

what are you talking about take the hood of and pull that little thing up and out what are you tring to take out thru the bell housing hump or what this is an 4 hour job to take it out completely and thats with a beer break.
