Clunk/Pop noise from front end

I am having an issue with a very noticable popping or clunking noise coming from the front end. It happens most often when I am turning the wheel at lower to mid speeds. I can make it pop by turning the wheels slightly back and forth while stopped. I thought maybe it was the CV assembly as there is a lot of grease on the frame, however the boot looks good and the grease appears to be coming from the where the CV assembly attaches to the front dif.

What else could it be?

I suggest jacking the front end up off the ground and inspect all the parts .
If you can't do it then take it to a garage that has a lift before that " pop "
turns into a " bang ".
