All of a sudden sitting at a red light my truck started to buck and then just died....when I went to restart the clutch went right to the floor...I checked and there is fluid in the cylinder, but I added a little more, it made little to no difference. I was able to drive it home slowly (couldn't get it past third gear). When we got underneath it there is a wire that is broken....not sure what it even goes to...does anyone have access to diagrams for the cluch assembly and the clutch master cylinder? we are trying to figure out if we need to replace the master cylinder or if this mystery wire is the case of the issue. Thanks

I don't have manual, so I'll answer logically.

If the wire goes to the hydraulic clutch, it's likely for the "clutch in - start safety"

If the pedal feels detached, I'd inspect it for broken/dislodged linkage.

Is there an inspection plate on the bottom of the bellhousing?

Do you see fluid leaking at the clutch master/slave or lines?

luck,greg

I just had same problem on my 94. Save some time and change both, the master cylinder and the slave cylinder. Very aggrevating to bleed also. Have someone with leg stamina to help you.

well if you going to buy both the slave and master. Then you just as well buy the line and put it together and bleed it before you reinstall the trans. You will be able to have the master lower than the slave so bleeding will be quick.
