CV Joint/ Rack and Pinion Removal

Hi, I have a 97 Jimmy, 4x4.

over the last month I noticed my vehicle pulling to the LEFT
when I let go of the steering wheel on the highway and I have to hold the wheel to the RIGHT just to go straight. Also, when im going LEFT there is this kind of 'Knocking/Thumping' noise coming from under my Jimmy on the driver side.

I did some googing on this, and have come to the conclusion that:

• The CV Joint and (OR) Steering Rack needs to be changed
• any other suggestions?

I also want to know how to do this, lol. I can take pictures/Videos of this project if you'd like to help me. Other thing, is there a Diagram online that I can view to see where what go's where? Probably need help on taking off the Top and Bottom Ball Joints from the control arm too .. any help would be good! thank u.
