Looking for some help with a Cylinder 5 misfire code on an 2004 model 1500 5.3. For about a year this code comes and goes and now it's time to smog so I'm in a pickle. Truck runs great, rough idle is on symptom
Work done so far
New injector
New Coil
New plugs and plug wires all around
Sea foam, GM combustion clean treatment
Local shop has gone through it and determined #5 is low on compression. Next we'll do a leak down test. So my question is I'm I looking at having the head pulled or are there other things to try??
