Hi, I recently purchased a 2015 Sierra 2500HD. I recently had instances when the dash lights, (cluster) and the entertainment screen go dark. They come back on after a little bit. It seems to happen when I go thru tunnels which seems backwards to me. Any idea on what's going on? I took it to the dealership and they told me to just keep the interior light dial turn up to full brightness. Thanks for any input.

its simple but easy to over look
at night does the dash dimmer work?
my truck dash goes dim when under an overpass on the freeway in rush hour traffic to long.
I see it happen often on other vehicles in front of me and there tail lights come on.
the light sensor on the dash is sensitive .
have you tried to simulate a tunnel by putting something over the sensor?
does the same thing happen as if your in a tunnel?
I would think the dealer has done what I have mentioned but who knows

My 2015 Sierra 1500 Base does the same thing. Seems to be correct operation. The sensor on the dash is more sensitive than on my 2010 Colorado. I also have a dash mat installed but it has a cutout for the sensor. I have the interior light dial turned up a few clicks for when it happens. The idea is for night driving. You don't want the dash lights to be too bright at night. The sensor doesn't know the time of day I would suspect.
