I have a 2001 GMC Jimmy Diamond edition with only 26k miles on the clock i have owned the truck since it was brand new with 30 miles on it. I hardly drove the vehicle but am starting to use it a lot now

Recently i began to have an issue with the vehicle stalling out and running rough. Upon inspection i found that the truck all of a sudden had two dead cylinders.

first i changed all the plugs, wires, fuel filter and air cleaner. all of which did not help. i was told the fuel injector spider could be the cause and after taking it apart to replace it we found the distributor had play in it. so of course i replaced both and began using only 93 octane. the truck ran fantastic but only for a few days.

After a few days one morning i started the truck up and it ran a little rough the service engine soon light came on but the then the truck ran perfect. 3 days later the light goes off and stays off for almost a month. so i think OK i'm good :). NOT:mad:! Now it has been coming on and going off once a week. I put the vehicle on the scanner a few times and was getting either a P0305 or P0300 its just random which code it throws but always does the same little stumble before the code comes up.

it only happens 30 seconds after start up i will feel a little stumble the will come on then the truck will run smooth with the light on. if by the time i pull out of the driveway the light is not on it wont come on. Its so random that its driving me crazy now i am sick of seeing this light on a 2001 vehicle that has 26k original miles and was barley used.

At this point i am not sure what would be the next steps to trouble shooting this problem and was hoping someone here could help point me in the right direction so i do not waste anymore money replacing parts and not fixing the issue.
