difference 2500hd and non hd.

I have a 03 gmc 2500, with stock 245 75 16 tires, at 70mph it is at 2500rpm. Does anyone know if this is normal for this truck and how do I know whether it's a HD. It has a 6.0 engine and it's a 4x4. There is no badge decals and I don't have the owner's manual.
