Digital Display — 2018 Sierra 1500 SLT — Simple Question

New owner of a nice 2018 Sierra SLT with Ll-Terrain package. I have owned it less than a week. My simple question: Am I correct that there is no indictor on the digital display, showing what gear the transmission is in?

This seems very odd to me. What am I missing, or why would this information not be displayed?
