I'm sorry. Looks like I have posted this in the wrong place. As you can see, I have figured out how to edit, but not remove this post to the correct location. I'm looking to find a NEW lower control arm for a 1997 Z71, stamped type. GM has discontinued this. (Interesting) Internet has yielded no information thus far concerning the purchase of a NEW lower control arm. The need for this NEW arm is due to the ball joint receptacle seeming to be stretched out. I was able to fully seat the new ball joint by turning the press with ONLY my HAND, no wrench, I am not finished investigating this matter. I need to find the proper I.D. of the receptacle. I will need to know this if I wind up going to the salvage yard, will need to measure before I purchase. GM parts tell me that the ball joint they offer comes with adhesive. Is this adhesive to glue the joint in place? This is not something I am interested in doing. LMC, JC Whitney, Rare Parts, etc. no one seems to have this control arm. Thank you.
