I have a 2000 GMC Jimmy and i was wondering if a motor out of an 1998 or 1999 will work for my 2000, in other words do they have the same motors. I thought that 1998 and up, most cars have about the same parts. I would really like to know if this will work cause then i can go and buy the block and get this car running again, if the other motors will not work and are not the same then i am in big trouble.

Yes you can use the motor from a 1998 in your 2000 jimmy. The years that can be used are 1996–2002 - 4.3 L (262 cu in) Vortec 4300 L35 V6, SCFI, 190 hp (142 kW)/250 lb·ft (339 N·m) (VIN W)

Good luck and hope this helps you get your jimmy running again soon. ;)
