So I have a 2015 GMC 2500 HD Duramax Sierra Denali with the RP OI6 infotainment system in it. According to the Intellilink manual (page 68) I should be able to use my personal computer to create a .csv file containing GPS coordinates, names and descriptions then download them via a USB thumb drive. Following the instructions rigidly I have been able to create the .csv file (something I do regularly since I am a development DBA) which I named JoeTestPOI, added a set of GPS coordinates (using the same exact syntax provided in the owners manual) saved to a thumb drive in the same directory structure and name as the manual, and finally plugged into the usb port in the truck where discovery was run and I was prompted to download new POI's. This created a new POI called JoeTestPOI but there are no addresses available in JoeTestPOI.
I'm a techie, I know that since JoeTestPOI did not exist on my truck's navigation system prior to me attempting this all these steps worked up to the exact syntax the coordinates, name and description are typed in the .csv file.
I have called everyone at GMC customer service as well as my dealership and no one will have TAC contact me. I just need 15 minute of TAC's time to get the exact syntax or format the coordinates, name and description need to be typed.
I am aware the GMC has about 8 different models and manufactures that supply the navigation system to GMC but they only print one Intellilink operators manual. So this is just an issue of knowing exactly what syntax works with the RP OI6 model installed in my truck.
Has anyone ever attempted to download POI GPS coordinates and if so, did you have any success? Could I get an example of the syntax in your .csv file?
Many thanks for at least reading my long winded saga!
