Drivers side power mirror

Hey guys I'm going to see about purchasing a new mirror assy. for my 08 sierra. The power adjust up and down does not work and I cant find a used one. Are there any tricks I need to know about before I replace it?

you need to check the switch in the door before you replace the mirror

I'm pretty sure the switch is ok, I can adjust the passenger side mirror with no issues and the left/right adjustment on the driver side. So if the switch is/was bad I don't think the passenger side would work at all, If I'm wrong someone correct me please like you said I don't want to spend money if I don't have to.

then may be loose wires in the mirror or door

Update

Went to the dealer yesterday to get a key made and to price out the mirror assy. Not as bad as i thought the complete mirror is $480
