i have searched the internet and this forum extensively and cannot find the answer i need

I have a 1996 gmc suburban stl k1500 4x4 and i am trying to find a way to remove the 2v drop diode to allow the full voltage to got to my drl so i can add hid's to my truck. i do not want to dissable my drl but the voltage output for the drl will not activate hid's and i dont want to hack the underhood wiring
to put in relays i just want to know if it is safe to remove the drl box and jump the wires to send out the full voltage to my drl.

thanks in advance

Nope, your going to have to run a relay from your DRL harness to your HID ballast to activate your HID. Sorry for the bad news :(

Good luck and keep up the good work

thats what i was thinking but i was not sure if the lower voltage would still trigger the relay. ok i will try that as i was planning to put on the relay to keep my low beams on with my hi beams anyways. thank you for your reply and have a great weekend
