I have a 2000 Sonoma and I barely noticed that every time I turn on the blinkers my drl shut off and when the blinkers stop the drl turn back on,and this only happens during day time. is this normal?

Yes, it is designed to do that. I have seen many new vehicles with leds surrounding the lights do that also. Supposedly that was to allow the signal light to be more visible, but I feel that on the highway, truckers may misinterpret it to mean the lane is clear.
It can be defeated by disabling the drls.

thx I just don't want other drivers thinking im flashing them, but I see the reason behing the blinker being easier to see.
