I have a 1997 Gmc Sierra k1500 z-71 5.7. With in the last 3-4 months I have replaced the fuel pump, filter, injectors(mpi upgrade), fixed the lower intake gasket. Last night go to start the truck back up, after it was running fine all day with the wife running errands (starting and stopping multiple times in the afternoon.) and it won't start. Keeps popping the ECM1 fuse, as soon as the key is in the on position. This morning I pulled the ignition coil harness and same thing. Move over to the fuel injector harness and the fuse doesnt pop. I inspected the harness around where the injectors are and cannot find where they might have gotten pinched, or grounded. Where else can I look to find this short? Is it possible the Mpi injectors are bad? (they are AC Delco brand)
, they think they have it narrowed down to a short in the injector pack. Will know more later.
