I'm thinking about converting to electric fans. The truck is a 2001 Seirra 1500 Z71 W/towing. I'm looking for some insight on what will be needed and far as fan size(i know i'll need duals), what cfm they should pull, and possibly a brand or manufacturer to use. also has anyone done 1 and how is it working for you thus far? thanks in advance.

Have never done it but looked into it for a older truck. I am no expert on this but one word of advice I can offer having looking into this. DO NOT LET money influence what ever parts/kits you decide to buy.

I noticed that the newer vehicles that come with electric fans all have bigger cooling systems which tells me the existing radiator might not be enough so look for something that is made for your vehicle, not some generic kit that might be more trouble then it worth with shoddy parts from far east manuf. The one manufacture I found of a kit for my older Checy truck included a new radiator and fan elimination engine brackets etc, supposedly turn key with a price approaching $1,000. This was no parts kits but a custom designed kit with top quality components. I cannot remember the name of this company but I think they were in Michigan.

I have the savana and just did finish converting to a efans, go to savana forum so that u have idea.

i am not sure what year they change...

but my truck only has electric fans...two of them with a nice shroud!

i can only imagne what they would cost... but depending on the year they did this...

maybe you can find a wrecked unit!
