Emission Tester Blew My Body Control Module

I have a 08 Vortec Max, never had any issues. Went for a inspection sticker and oil change. Mechanic calls me a few minutes later and tells me the truck will not start after he removed the emission tester.

After a wrecker ride to the dealer we found out the BCM went bad. Has anyone had this experience? It cost me about 800.00 bucks to replace counting the wrecker cost.

Just sounds like an unlucky event... I'd be going after whoever tested the truck for something though.. Not sure how they test your emissions.. but they only stick a rod up the tailpipe here and that wouldn't cause a BCM to fail...

They plug in under the steering wheel here. Then they open the gas tank and stick a probe there.

Since I posted this I have had others tell me some inspection places are aware of the problem with GM trucks.
