Engine options

Hello, new to the site. My mother in law has a 2000 Jimmy that my step son wrecked. She wants another Jimmy. The current Jimmy only has 70k on it and was in excellent shape all around, originally from Texas. The drivetrain is fine, the front drivers side is wrecked bad, even tweaking the windshield frame. I can either try and make the current truck driveable, or find another Jimmy with a blown motor or tranny and swap out everything. My question is, can the same engine and tranny in the current Jimmy go into a 4 door, 4wd Jimmy, coming from a 2 door, 2wd or any of the other variations without major modifications? To the best of my knowledge they all used the same engine and transmission. Also, which years can be looked at? I believe 2001 was the end of this bodystyle. Any advice would be greatly appreciated, and would hopefully get me some points with my mother in law.
