Fan broke off, shredded radiator?

I was driving down the freeway, heard a loud noise pulled over, and my radiator fan was laying at the bottom of my engine compartment. My radiator was also shredded. I've heard it could be the water pump or engine mounts. Anyone know how I can figure this out? Or what the best thing for me to do is? It's a 1997 GMC 2500.

sounds like your water pump broke or your clutch fan. Easy diag if you look at it. If you don't know by looking take it to a honest shop.

thanks! is there anything in particular i should look for to see if the water pump is broken?
