I just bought a 2013 Sierra 2500 Duramax crew cab long bed. I have a two year old Curt 20K hitch that was in the truck I sold. The Curt dealer wants to weld the L connectors to the frame. This will save a lot of money by not having to buy the special steel plates and bolt them to the frame. The Curt dealer has been in business for over thirty years and says he is welding, certified welders, all the new frames. Any input on this?

Check with your dealer before any welding is performed that may void any warranty that you have. I know it sounds crazy, but manufacturers of all make of cars consider any type of altercations to there vehicles may void there warranty unless its approved.

Stay on the safe side and give them a call and explain to them what your looking to do to keep your warranty.

Keep us posted and enjoy your new 2013
