I bought a 1988 Suburban 1/2 ton Sierra Classic 4x4 350TBI as an impulse buy to have a toy for the summer.
That being said, I know little about the electronics of this vehicle. I can't figure out how to turn the brights on, or if they even work. I don't know how the tail lights work, but I've confirmed all the signals work as well as the reverse lights and brake lights. Help me figure out how to turn my shit on! There's a pull knob for the headlights that rotates to turn the interior lights on, and it seems like it has 2 settings but the brights don't come on.

If it's an old pull out style knob for the headlights, the first position should be the parking lights only, the fully out position is the headlights. The high beams should be controlled by the turn signal lever, pull it towards the steering wheel, first time turns the brights on, the next time turns them off. Do you have 2 or 4 headlights? My old 88 pickup had a different headlight switch, but the turn signal still controls the highbeams. Unless you have really old school, then you have a silver button on the floor of the vehicle near the panel on the left, but you shouldn't have that unless your suburban is older than 88.

Hi sobe911; I have a 89 suburban and my dimmer switch is off the turn switch. It has a push rod down by ignition switch. it can be seen by taking lower dash down. I had a problem with mine was stuck. I sprayed it with wd40 got it working then I put grease on it and works fine now. Check that ut
