I have a 2008 Sierra 1500 and would like to do something with the fog lights. I have always liked the look of amber fog lenses (I had some on trucks in the past) but I'm not sure the best way to do it. I haven't seen many complete housing/lens replacements that look high quality at a decent price, and I don't want to make any extensive mounting mods. I was thinking about upgrading to CREE LED bulbs in white, and going with amber Lamin-X covers (I like that this option is easily reversible, and pretty cheap...the covers are only $19/set and decent LED bulbs are reasonable). Another option would be to go with amber LEDs and retain the stock lenses. Has anyone else seen or done this and have any suggestions? I don't do a lot of driving in dense fog or at night so I'm not too worried about losing light output.
Just a side note: budget constraints are definitely an issue for me. Another forum recommended the Morimotos XBs, which are really nice, but for me they are too pricey and they don't have the amber look I want.

If you have any experience with the Lamin-X 12mil covers I would be interested in hearing that as well.
