Follow GAP setting

I have a 2024 Canyon with just about 1000 miles. How do I know if the GAP control on the steering wheel works. I have tried it at all levels and I never see a response, but I am not sure what I should see. Vehicle has the regular cruise control not adaptive cruise control.

Follow-up, Dealer say's an update is need to make my Gap/collision avoidance system work. I guess this means no one has a collision avoidance system that works, or its just my truck?
How could an update for a safety system not be available?
