i took my 98 sierra k3500 in to get new tires and they told me one of the front wheel bearings needs to be replaced. they quoted me $900 for this. i was trying to price out part and figure approximate labor charges and this seemed kinda expensive for a front wheel bearing. i could be wrong though. does anyone have any insight on cost for this job? thanks in advance

That's a little high for that price, OEM cost for the Wheel hub is ACDelco #FW126 right side $457.00 and ACDelco #FW125 left side $405.00. The time of labor is about 1.5 hour if not 2 hours the most if there are any issues.

Most labor cost is about $65.00 - $85.00 per hour, depends on where you take it. Also the cost of the wheel hub will vary also, after market wheel bearing will be less then the OEM from the dealer.

Good luck and keep us posted.
