Hey there my homies. I have a 2000 sierra 1500 and I am trying to replace my parking brake shoes so I can pass my inspection. Unfortunately I am unable to get the caliper bracket mounting bolts off of one side. I was able to get the passenger side replaced after lots of PB Blaster and beating on it but the drivers side is giving me fits. I have used an air impact wrench with 500 ft/lbs of torque and that little turd will not come off. Does anyone have any ideas?

I don't have any magic suggestions for getting the bracket bolts loose . However, if getting through inspection is the goal, you should be able to adjust the parking brake shoe cables so that the parking brakes work well enough. It's pretty rare that the parking brake shoes actually wear out to the point that they don't hold, but cable and parking brake foot pedal adjustments are commonly needed. I can recall having to remove
the caliper bracket bolts from the front brakes of my 2000 Sierra . It took a 6 point socket and a pipe extension on my breaker bar to get it loose, and I wasn't sure if the bolt would break loose or my tools would break first.
